Overview:
Our Client is an independent Test facility offering test services to the automotive and other industries.
Position requires a Narte certified engineer providing expertise in the areas of compliance testing and product design, as well as staying abreast of changes in technology and compliance standards. The manager will provide recommendations on proper EMC test methods and minimize cycle time, develop and implement new instrumentation and test setups, maintain and upgrade existing systems, and continuously look for ways to improve efficiency and methodology in laboratory systems and procedures. The EMC expert will ensure accuracy and repeatability of EMC test results through facility calibrations.

ESSENTIAL:

- NARTE Certification

- EMC Test Lab experience

- AEMCLRP familiarity

- Knowledge of CISPR specifications

- Strong technical and leadership capability

- Responsible for reviewing test plans and generating quotes.

- Ensure laboratory equipment is compliant to serve automotive EMC test market.


The Director will define the testing services business path and customer specifications for new services. He/she will champion services/business strategy. The Director will decide on development tradeoffs from an overall business point of view, track and evaluate testing services competition, and monitor technology trends that may impact future services.

External relationships include customers and key market influencers

Qualifications:
the person:
Must be an experienced professional with a minimum of a bachelor's degree in engineering. An advanced degree is preferred. Preferred is ten + years of experience in either an industrial, testing services or manufacturing organization. Must have a passion to build the business by working with customers and industry partners. Must have successful management of technical personnel.
Expected background:

Solid background in electromagnetic theories.
System design a strong asset.
Supervisory experience.
Experience with environment modeling, particularly for the proximity field effects.
Experience with EMC effects on devices, both ;susceptibility; and ;emission; effects.
Experience with automotive (or aerospace/aviation as backup) applications.
Familiar with measurements techniques related to EMC.

Familiarity with the following specifications and programs are desirable:

ISO-17025
AEMCLAP
CISPR specifications
FCC specifications
Military specifications
Automotive OEM specifications
RTCA-DO-160D
IEC specifications

Salary:
salary up to: $100,000+
