When considering the type of mount to use, consider that stud mounting provides the best transmissibility, and therefore the most accurate measurement. If adhesive mounting is used remember that this is not as good as a stud mount, but is better than magnetic mounting.

Another consideration is mass loading. If the test object is small and /or low mass then mass loading should be considered. In this case select the smallest accelerometer to still provide the required measurement and consider stud or adhesive mounting.

Look for a vibration-products vendor that offers a wide selection of accessories that compliment our accelerometers and make it easy for a measurement system to be implemented.

In addition to stud and adhesive mounting, mounting pads and magnetic mounting base accessories offer added mounting flexibility. These allow the sensor to be protected from repeated installation and removal on a test object in the case of the mounting base, and the flexibility to be easily positioned in the case of the magnetic base. The vendor should also offer a wide selection of cabling solutions that allow for a custom solution for each application. Standard and custom length cables should be available.
