The Model 5553/630, a Portable Shaker from Metrix Instruments, is a rugged, self-contained unit designed to verify the performance of industrial accelerometers and velocity pickups, as well as most vibration switches. Its built-in electrodynamic shaker is horizontally mounted with a suspension system that provides isolation for the enclosure. A reference accelerometer is built into the shaker element. Special vibration feet minimize the effect of vibration from external sources.
