EMC Test Technician
Primary Function:
This individual will be assigned to the EMC (Electromagnetic Compatibility) laboratory and, the primary responsibilities are to conduct radio frequency testing per the IEC 61000-4 (immunity) and FCC part 15 (emissions) standards on industrial control equipment. The individual will be expected to work closely with other members of the laboratory staff in a team environment.
Responsibilities:
· Conduct EMC tests (Radiated and Conducted emissions, Radiated Susceptibility, Electrical Fast Transient, Electrostatic Discharge, Surge, etc) per IEC 61000-4, FCC and EN 55011/22 standards on a variety of industrial control equipment.
· Perform test setup verifications per the relevant standards.
· Build test fixtures as necessary and automate as necessary.
· Interpret test data.
· Work closely with engineering customers to refine test plans.
· Prepare formal test reports.
· Assist in obtaining ISO 17025 certification.
Requirements:
· AA, BSET or BSEE degree.
· Strong desire for a career in RF testing.
· NARTE Certified or, a plan to obtain NARTE certification within an agreed time frame.
· Basic understanding of measurement uncertainty.
· Proficient in the operation of general laboratory test equipment (spectrum analyzers, meters, signal generators, oscilloscopes, etc)
· Competent PC skills (Word, Excel, Power Point, etc).
· Ability to write simple programs in Visual Basic or, Labview for test automation.
· Excellent written and oral skills. |
