M/RAD, a large manufacturer of vibration-testing products, offers several software suites that may be useful in your dynamics-testing regimen.

One product is WIN437 Digital Vibration Monitor:

The M/RAD Model WIN437 Digital Vibration Monitor is a PC based instrument that will instantly provide vital vibratory information including Acceleration, Displacement, Frequency and Velocity readout. Furthermore, specimen and shaker protection are supplied with over and under "g" limits which may shut down the machine upon activation. The monitor contains these functions in an Acquisition Card which is situated in a PC that uses a PCI slot. The accelerometer is interfaced with an M/RAD supplied Interface Box which is attached to the Acquisition Card. No accelerometer pre-conditioner or other laboratory instruments are required. Confidence and protection of the test specimen while vibration testing are assured.

- Over and under g test protection; user defined
- Acceleration, displacement, frequency and velocity display; real time
- User defined accelerometer sensitivities
- Ability to produce a hard copy
- Accelerometer with 10 foot cable.

- Interface with customer supplied PC
- Windows 95 or 98 OS

A Digital Vibration Controller is also offered:

The M/RAD Model WIN491 Digital Vibration Controller is a PC based instrument that will sweep frequency between adjustable limits at variable linear and logarithmic rates. Its capabilities include:

- Ability to run logarithmic mode using db/time adjustment
- Ability to run in linear mode using frequency/time adjustment
- Infinite amount of sweeps with automatic shutdown
- Display digital count status of sweep cycle
- Ability to control frequency manually with click of mouse
- Ability to dwell at any point
- Adjustable profiles; user defined
- Display graphical log scale of performance over time; real time
- Ability to save performance as retrievable history and/or hard cop
- On/off control at PC

- Interface with customer supplied PC
- Windows 95 or 98 OS

Finally, there is a PC-based Four Channel Digital Shock Pulse System:

The M/RAD Model SRA-1400-4 is a Four Channel Digital Shock Pulse Instrumentation System to capture, display and analyze half-sine, sawtooth and square wave pulses. The system includes 4 main building blocks. These blocks are the Signal Conditioning, Digitizer, Computer and Special Analysis Software.

Signal Conditioning:
The Signal Conditioning for this system is comprised of transducer buffer and scaling. These circuits represent the waveform recorder with a normalized full-scale input regardless of transducer sensitivity.

Digitizer:
The Digitizer is an SRA-1400-4 data acquisition board which is a complete four channel waveform recorder. This recorder is a PCI board which resides inside the computer enclosure. The shock pulse is used to self-trigger the recording and the system will automatically back record to provide a pulse record which starts before the shock pulse begins.

Computer:
Minimum Requirements:
1. 400 MHz CPU
2. 64 Meg’s Ram
3. 1 open PCI slot (PCMCIA slot for a laptop)
4. 10 Mb of hard drive space
5. Screen resolution 1024 x 768 min
6. Color printer (optional)

Analysis Software:
The special analysis software provides easy-to-use operator interface. All of the functions are activated by the mouse.
