The selection of the correct accelerometer for each application is important because using the wrong sensor type could mean the loss of important data by not being able to measure the vibration signal, over ranging, or not matching the sensor to the frequency spectrum of the signal. Key parameters to consider when doing structural vibration are listed below.

* Frequency response
* Noise floor
* Acceleration range
* Single or Multiple axis
* Temperature Coefficient

Structural analysis usually implies use of multiple accelerometers for measurement. Effective signal conditioning may also be necessary to make sure you are getting dood, clean data from the sensors.
