Here's a description of this course offered by the Vibration Institute Course:

The objective of all of the Vibration Institute courses is to prepare you to be a better analyst. Institute courses will enable you to gain understanding of vibration principles and techniques and add to your practical knowledge of machines. With these tools you will be better able to think through vibration problems.

Vibration Institute courses are designed to provide you with theory, techniques, and procedures as well as practical case histories that illustrate ways to analyze various types of equipment. In-class demonstrations and workshops will help you learn the methods used to solve vibration problems.

Machinery Vibration Analysis is designed for those who have had at least three years of experience in machine vibrations, routinely use a data collector, and have taken a basic vibrations course or have a college degree. Also, Machinery Vibration Analysis will help you prepare for the Vibration Institute's certification examination for either Category II Vibration Analyst or Category III Vibration Analyst.

TOPICS
advanced vibration concepts
single-plane balancing
use of single-channel FFT analyzers and data collectors
using data collectors and tape recorders for data storage
setting alarms for efficient predictive maintenance
determination of natural frequencies, resonance, and critical speeds
identification of machine forces and frequencies
vibration correction techniques
isolation and damping of installed equipment
spectral, time waveform, phase, and orbital analysis
machine specific analysis—motors, fans, pumps compressors,
engines, presses, turbines
preparation for Category II and III Vibration Analyst Examination
